When I started seeing pictures added next to links in the Google Search Engine results, it was a bit annoying to me. If it was a company site, you would see the author’s pic. Supposedly having a picture improves the chances of getting a click through. For me, it didn’t work. I still read the description and made sure it was relevant to my search terms. All the picture did was clutter up my web pages! LOL.
Well, it seems Google has made changes yet again to Google Authorship. After the Internet marketing world frantically pushed how we needed our pictures and how we would get better results, pics have been removed. Read more.
Some are tired or don’t want to hassle and are not bothering with Google Authorship anymore. But wait is that wise?
